The need is critical. Help your neighbour today!
Today, more than ever, Mutual Aid Ministries (MAM) needs your help.
Hard-working families are falling behind, single moms are mired in low paying jobs, seniors cling to shrinking fixed incomes and children go to school hungry.
These are the people Mutual Aid Ministries seeks to help through our unique partnership with MAX Canada Insurance Company, and the generous policy holders who have purchased MAX Canada home, farm, business and church insurance.
MAX Canada is a fair, faithful and socially responsible enterprise that donates a portion of its revenues to Mutual Aid Ministries. MAX Canada employees also give parts of their paychecks while board members, business partners and caring friends contribute even more.
Working alongside local churches and community service organizations, Mutual Aid Ministries has given assistance to individuals and families who needed our help. Here are just a few of their stories:
- A couple, in their 90’s and living on a low fixed income, needed to upgrade the electrical system in their house from fuses to breakers in order to keep their home safe from fire. They did not have the money! Mutual Aid Ministries partnered with her church and together they paid for an electrician to do the work, bringing safety, assurance, and wholeness to their living situation.
- Sue is an unemployed single mother with three children. She lost her job due to sickness, her unemployment ran out months ago and she has been denied disability payments. Medically, she is dealing with cancer, diabetes, an enlarged heart and high blood pressure. A Mutual Aid Ministries grant, given through her congregation, assisted in paying some of her bills.
- Steve is confined to a wheelchair and needs an entrance ramp to get in and out of his house. Mutual Aid Ministries, working through a local social service agency, provided assistance to purchase materials so that volunteers could build the ramp.
